details

This 60"x30" CMP was about a mile down a main road from a main Colorado Highway. The culvert has thousands, if not tens of thousands, driving over it on a daily basis.

problem

The culvert only had a few feet of cover and a 7 degree bend about 10' into the 100' long CMP. The owner had specified CIPP for this culvert. CIPP, like many of our projects, would not meet the structural requirements. The contractor pivoted to spincasting, which also could not meet the structural requirements. Both options would've only provide a 50+ year design life anyways and not addressed the voids. The initial solution was to dig up this main road.

solution

Luckily there was a better way. Channeline was the only fully structural 100+ year design life solution for this culvert rehab project. It was completed for a fraction of the cost of digging and replacing and winched into place over a couple of days despite significant rainfall. 4' lay lengths were manufactured to allow the liner to be pulled from one side around the bend.
