"ITHACA, N.Y. — The City of Ithaca is redirecting traffic after a "catastropshic" water main break.
The city posted on its Facebook page that around 3 p.m. on Oct. 18, a water main failure occurred between Hudson Street and Prospect Street on South Aurora Street. The break caused the roadway to partially collapse.
The city said water and sewer crews are working to make repairs on Monday.
Posted below are the detours, provided by the city:
Southbound detour -- Drivers traveling south from the Aurora Street Bridge toward Danby Road (Route 96B) should turn left onto Hudson Street, then right onto Prospect Street and continue left onto South Aurora Street.
Northbound detour -- Drivers traveling north on South Aurora Street toward the Aurora Street Bridge should turn right onto Columbia Street, then left onto Hudson Street to reach the bridge."
